Ok-ja and her son Do-hyun resort to falsely registering their residence in Daechi-dong, Seoul, aiming to secure better educational opportunities despite their tight financial situation. Do-hyun becomes envious when he sees his affluent classmate Sang-su receiving disability benefits. However, he soon discovers that Sang-su is not truly disabled, revealing significant loopholes in the government’s welfare system. Later at university, Do-hyun teams up with his friend Ji-woo to cleverly exploit government entrepreneurial subsidies by deliberately failing projects to take advantage of lenient policies. Driven by a desire for greater wealth, Do-hyun partners with investor Kevin to launch a questionable cryptocurrency scheme, sidelining Ji-woo in the process. Although they enjoy brief success, their operations eventually collapse under regulatory pressure. Their attempt to generate bigger profits by leveraging more capital tragically backfires, turning their venture into what can be described as a "Death Business."
