Spring of 1989. Nestled high in the Indian Himalayas, where even birds fly low to avoid losing their way in the dense clouds, Dev, a soft-spoken man, owns an expansive estate filled with numerous orchards. He lives there with his family in a charming colonial-style home. Dev often spends his mornings crafting human-sized wings, using them to take brief flights over his vast lands. One day, during a stroll through the estate, he stumbles upon a single apple tree that has been burnt. Within days, more trees show signs of fire damage. Concerned, Dev and his manager begin closely monitoring the plantation workers, which sparks tension among them. Suspicion falls on a group of nomads, drawing the involvement of a corrupt police officer. Meanwhile, loyal guards set up night watches in the orchards to keep a vigilant eye. Despite these precautions, a devastating fire erupts a week later, consuming an entire mountainside of trees. In his desperate quest to find the arsonist, Dev turns to armed force. The gradual destruction of his orchards compels him to confront hard truths about himself and his family.
