After Maya is discovered in a sexually compromising situation during her teenage years, her mother decides to relocate the family back to India to instill proper discipline in her. Several years later, Maya returns to the United States seeking funding for her app aimed at teenagers. To better understand her target audience, she takes a job as a substitute high school teacher.
