In 1993, Maureen’s six-year-old daughter, Amina, is secretly taken out of the country by her ex-husband, Karim. Despite years of relentless efforts to locate her, Maureen's search yields no results. Her path eventually crosses with a skilled specialist in recovering internationally abducted children, who offers to assist in finding Amina—on the condition that Maureen works alongside them.
