G-Day

June 1944. Europe is engulfed in the chaos of war as plans for the Normandy landings are in full swing. Denis Porte diligently carries out his daily duties at a British military base—though it’s all an elaborate ruse. His assignment involves moving fake soldiers around each day to mislead the enemy. In the Porte family, heroism runs deep, with fathers and sons sacrificing their lives for France. For this reason, Denis refuses to take any real risks that might upset his mother. Managing a fictitious base is the only danger she will allow him to face. However, after meeting Sami, an Algerian doctor with dreams of meeting De Gaulle, the two make a spontaneous decision during a boozy night to join the real fight. Embarking on their journey with courage—and more than a few drinks—they soon realize they have the wrong date and wrong destination. Coupled with a hero unwilling to put himself in harm’s way, this is their D-Day adventure—almost.
